DIY Dryer Sheets

Came across this and HAD to do it! I don't know about you but dryer sheets are EXPENSIVE and they are a PAIN. Liquid Fabric softener is great but the dispenser always gets gunked up and trying to pour it in Downey Ball is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. So, here is a solution!
Reusable DIY Dryer "Sheets" made from sponges! Works GREAT and is REUSABLE. In lieu of sponges, you could cut up sheets of flannel material, soak them in a baby wipe container with the solution and use them that way. Some people let them dry out and then toss in the dryer. If you use them wet, be sure to WRING THEM OUT THOROUGHLY to avoid staining your clothes!
I am going to experiment with both wet sponges and dry sponges and see what works best! I hear drying them out gives you multiple uses between soakings!

Bacon Ranch Potato Salad

You will Need:
2 lbs of potatoes... I use new potatoes with skin left on
1 cup of Sour Cream
1/2 cup of miracle whip
1pkg of Hidden Valley Ranch dip
6 strips of BACON (cooked)
1/2 med size onion (chopped)
1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

What you do:
Scrub your potatoes and then cut into quarters.. boil till soft but not mushy
drain.... let cool a bit.. while they are cooling in another bowl mix sour cream, miracle whip and dressing mix
crumble in your already cooked bacon and sauteed onions (what I do is cook the bacon then when its done put it on a plate to cool... I already have my onions chopped and I put them in the grease and cook for approx 3 min.)
Mix everything together well and fold onto the potatoes .. make sure to cover them all well.. then I add the cheese and mix well..
ENJOY

DIY Cleaning wipes

Paper towels
½ tsp liquid dish soap
3 Tbsp vinegar
2 cups warm water
container
* optional~essential oil scent you desire....to cut out vinegar smell. I like the smell so I didn't use any

Directions
~cut paper towel roll in 1/2
~combine ingredients in container. make sure you put the dish soap in last then it wont suds up.
~place 1/2 roll paper towel in container and put the lid on. I had an old store bought one Ive been using.
~turn upside down for a few minutes to make sure the paper towel gets soaked. I had a little leakage with this container the first time, so now I put plastic wrap on it before the lid goes on.
~once paper towel is thoroughly saturated you'll be able to pull out the cardboard middle and pull the wipes!
I always make 2, since the paper towel is already cut.... one for each bathroom. you just have to double the ingredients
AND..... this is also my streak free glass cleaner recipe.... so it is safe for glass. The wipes are a quite wet, I just squeeze out the excess solution first and have some dry paper towel around to wipe off!!!

Woo Hoo~ I am always looking for a good prime rib recipe! Gotta try this one out very soon...

✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿ SHARE TO SAVE ✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿
For the gourmet cook that lives in many of us, here's how to cook a perfect Roast Prime Rib of Beef!!

ROAST PRIME RIB OF BEEF
1 5.75 pound prime rib roast of beef (2 bones)
There are no measurements here. Just generous amounts of the following:
Butter at room temperature
*Herbs de Provence
Fresh cracked pepper
Kosher salt – a generous amount

Chef Ron Lock’s Spicy Horseradish Sauce (optional)
*Herbs de Provence
2 tablespoons dried savory
2 tablespoons dried rosemary
2 tablespoons dried thyme
2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons dried basil
2 tablespoons dried marjoram
2 tablespoons dried fennel seed
2 tablespoons dried lavander flowers (optional)
2 tablespoons dried parsley or Italian parsley (optional)
1 teaspoon bay powder (optional)
Combine in a small bowl and store in an airtight container.

Directions
Preheat oven to 500° F (this MUST be an accurate temp)
Put roast, rib side down in roasting pan
Mix the pepper and herbs in the butter until well combined.
Spread the butter mixture over the entire surface of the prime rib. The more the better.
Put the kosher salt over the entire surface of the butter. Be very GENEROUS. Use more than you think you should here. Most of the salt will run off and very little will remain on the meat. I can’t stress the “generous” enough.
Put the roast in the 500 degree oven for 30 minutes as outlined in step 1. The time will be according to the size of your roast. After the 30 minutes, simply turn the oven off and walk away from it for 2 hours. Yup, just walk away. Do NOT open the door, fiddle with it or anything else. Pretend the roast does not exist.
After 2 hours, remove the roast and LET SIT at least 15 min to allow it to rest before carving!
Slice and serve. You can remove the rib bones for easier slicing and it also makes it easier to get 4 generous servings from the roast. Save the bones! Serve with au jus or Chef Ron Lock’s Spicy Horseradish Sauce etc. Whatever you like. You will surely love this method. You will get a succulent, moist roast between rare and medium rare. Perfect!

10 Foods to Help Prevent Clogged Arteries

• Garlic
Since ancient times garlic has been used to treat heart
disease and hypertension. According to a study published
in preventive medicine, garlic inhibits coronary artery
calcification which serves as a marker for plaque
formation.

• Grapes
Grapes are rich in flavonoids, quercetin, and resveratrol.
These flavonoids have been found to prevent the oxidation
of bad cholesterol that leads to the formation of plaque in
artery walls. They also lower the risk of developing blood
clots that can lead to heart attacks.

• Spinach
Spinach is rich in potassium and folic acids, both of which
act as a defense against high blood pressure. Spinach is
also rich in lutein, a plant carotenoid which not only
protects against age related macular degeneration but also
prevents heart attacks by keeping arteries free from
cholesterol build up.

• Fish
A study conducted by researchers at Southampton
University found that Omega 3 oils, present in fishes like
tuna and salmon, stop the build up of fatty deposits in the
arteries. These fatty acids prevent clots from forming and
cholesterol from becoming oxidized.
• Olive oil

Only oxidized cholesterol is able to stick to your artery
walls and form plaques. Monounsaturated fats present in
olive oil when mixed with molecules of bad cholesterol
become less likely to be oxidized.

• Tomatoes
According to a study conducted by Korean researchers,
lycopene, a compound present in tomatoes that gives them
their color, helps in prevent hardening of the arteries.
Researchers found that women with the highest lycopene
levels in their blood had the least stiffness in their arteries.

• Pomegranates
Pomegranate juice not only appears to prevent hardening
of the arteries by reducing blood vessel damage, but may
also reverse the progression of this disease. Pomegranate
fruit and its juice are high in antioxidant content, which
may help fight hardening of the arteries.

• Kiwi and Cantaloupe
These antioxidant-rich foods work by reducing toxic LDL
cholesterol, which is formed by a rusting process in your
arteries. They can help stop the rust in its tracks and even
prevent it from spreading. Eat one cup of cantaloupe or
one kiwi per day to unclog your arteries.

• Cranberry juice
This juice strains the fat out of arteries. Instead of having
fat build up in your blood vessels, this juice boosts your
cell’s ability to absorb the fat and use it for production of
energy. Drink three glasses of this juice every week to
unclog your arteries.

• Oats
Thanks to the soluble fiber in oats, cholesterol doesn’t
stand a chance. This fiber attaches itself to cholesterol
and carries it right out of your system. Some studies have
shown that eating just 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cups of cooked oat-
bran cereal daily can lower cholesterol levels by almost
20%.

Eggs on a Cloud

I made this for Breakfast this morning and it was so yummy and very filling, this is quick breakfast to make for the kids to send them back to school with a yummy protein filled breakfast in their belly.

Ingredients
1 egg per cloud
salt (I used sea salt 3 twists)
Cheese (I used Colby Jack)

Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Crack the egg and separate the egg yolk from the egg white
Place them in a separate bowl.
Add salt and use your hand mixer to mix up to a meringue consistency, once you have soft peaks forming fold in your cheese.
***Be careful not to deflate the meringue. I also added ham and made just an egg white cloud, that is the first one in the photo.
Carefully spoon the meringue onto a greased cookie sheet place in the oven for 3 minutes. Pull it out and add the egg yolk and place back in the oven for 3 minutes.
Sprinkle with cheese again after adding the yolk (my family loves cheese)

*** Tip... If you get any yolk in the egg white it will not firm up to make a meringue, best thing to do if this happens is make scrambled eggs and start over, with a new egg.
