The Farmer and the Snake

ONE WINTER a Farmer found a Snake stiff and frozen with cold.
The snake said to the Farmer:
“If you pick me up and hold me to your stomach, your body will make me warm.”
The Farmer said:
“If I do that you will bite me.”
The Snake answered:
“Why would I do that if you save me?”
The Farmer had compassion on the Snake, and taking it up, placed it in his bosom.
The Snake was quickly revived by the warmth, and resuming its natural instincts, bit its benefactor, inflicting on him a mortal wound.
“Oh,” cried the Farmer, “Why did you bite me after I saved you?”
“You knew I was a snake when you picked me up,” answered the Snake.
With his last breath the farmer said:
“I am rightly served for pitying a scoundrel.”

I know I have met my fair share of people like this ... You can not go through life never knowing a few meanies!!!
But I will never EVER allow the actions of narcissistic sociopaths to destroy my belief hat there is good in everyone...
No matter what happens... always treat others with kindness...
We do not know what has caused some to turn out the way they did....
Pray for those who try to do you harm... And stay as far away as you possibly can!!!!
We become like those we surround ourselves with .. find good people to lift you up.. surround yourself with those that want the best for you

Too Funny!! Kids say the Darndest things!! Must READ!! 😂 😂 😂

Follow me for laughs and awesome recipes! .https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JulieHerschberger
JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?'...
MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'
STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'
BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'
SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough.'
DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'
MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'
CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?'
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'
TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'
The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget... ...'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening, leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
Hahaha! Now those were too funny!

Flaky Pie Crust & Pumpkin Pie - Light and Creamy

2 eggs
1 3/4 c Pumpkin I used 1 can 15 oz
3/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Ginger
1/4 tsp Cloves
1 2/3 c Evaporated Milk 12 oz

Beat Eggs slightly, mix in rest of the ingredients. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes then turn oven to 350 degrees and continue baking for 45 minutes. Bake till toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Gonna Be needing THIS for ALL the Pumpkin PIES !!!!!!

The best pie crust ever!!

Single Crust:
1 1/3 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp.salt
1/2 cup well-chilled All Vegetable Shortening, I prefer Crisco
3 to 6 tablespoons ice cold water

Double Crust:
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp.salt
3/4 cup well-chilled All Vegetable Shortening, I prefer Crisco
4 to 8 tablespoons ice cold water

Directions:
Cut in chilled shortening cubes into flour mixture, using a pastry blender, in an up and down chopping motion, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some small pea-sized pieces remaining.
Sprinkle half the amount of ice cold water over the flour mixture. Using a fork, stir and draw flour from bottom of bowl to the top, distributing moisture evenly into flour. Press chunks down to bottom of bowl with fork. Add more water by the tablespoon, until dough is moist enough to hold together when pressed together.
Test dough for proper moistness by squeezing a marble-sized ball of dough in your hand. If it holds together firmly, do not add any additional water. If the dough crumbles, add more water by the tablespoonful, until dough is moist enough to form a smooth ball when pressed together.
Shape dough into a ball for single pie crust. Divide dough in two for double crust Flatten ball(s) into 1/2-inch thick round disk(s).
For ease in rolling, wrap dough in plastic wrap. Chill for 30 minutes
or up to 2 days.
Roll dough from center outward with steady pressure on a lightly floured work surface (or between two sheets of wax or parchment paper) into a circle 2-inches wider than pie plate for the bottom crust. Transfer dough to pie plate by loosely rolling around rolling pin. Center the rolling pin over the pie plate, and then unroll, easing dough into pie plate.
For a Single pie crust, trim edges of dough leaving a 3/4-inch overhang. Fold edge under. Flute dough as desired. Bake according to specific recipe directions.
For a Double pie crust, roll larger disk for bottom crust, trimming edges of dough even with outer edge of pie plate. Fill unbaked pie crust according to recipe directions. Roll out smaller dough disk. Transfer dough carefully onto filled pie. Trim edges of dough leaving a 3/4-inch overhang. Fold top edge under bottom crust. Press edges together to seal and flute as desired. Cut slits in top crust or prick with fork to vent steam. Bake according to specific recipe directions.
For Pre baking Pie Crusts for a cream pie
Thoroughly prick bottom and sides of unbaked pie dough with fork to prevent
it from blistering or rising. Bake crust in lower third of oven, at 425°F, 10-12 minutes or until edges and bottom are golden brown.

Another quick craft, all you need for this one is glitter, a few empty jars, and glow sticks. Cut the glow sticks open, and shake the contents into the jar. Add your glitter, replace the lid, and shake shake shake for a cute lantern. this would be awesome for Halloween

I absolutely love the benefits of coconut oil

I♥coconut oil!!! It's so universal!!!! Many different ways to use it!!!

20 REASONS TO KEEP COCONUT OIL IN THE BATHROOM
1. Shave Your Legs. That’s right! Coconut oil is a girl’s best friend when it comes to shaving. If you want baby soft legs, rub a small amount of coconut oil on your legs before shaving.
2. Oil Pulling - Have you swished with coconut oil? Oil pulling is a traditional way to cleanse the mouth of bacteria. Start your day with oil pulling by swishing a teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth. Try to swish for at least 10 minutes. If you can, swish up to 20 minutes. (CAUTION:do not spit it out in the sink, it will clog the drain.)
3. Wash Your Face. It’s called oil cleansing and it’s amazing! It may sound strange but oil can actually help clean your face.
4. Hair Treatment – Coconut oil helps reduce protein loss when used as a pre or post treatment. Pre-treating your hair by adding a 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil to the roots and work the oil down to the ends. Leave the coconut oil on for an hour before rinsing.
5. Skin moisturizer. Coconut oil is known to help reduce scaring, stretch marks and prevent sagging skin. It’s a natural “miracle” cream! Try my whipped coconut oil body butter here.
6. Rash and Burn Cream. Coconut oil helps to sooth rashes and burns. A small dab of coconut oil has always helped to reduce and even eliminate diaper rash.
7. Eye Makeup Remover. Another wonderful reason to have coconut oil on hand in the bathroom is for removing makeup! Wash your face and then use coconut oil to remove the remaining eye makeup.
8. Cuticle Treatment. Coconut oil does wonders for your nails! Massage your finger nails and toe nails with it as often as you like to help keep rugged cuticles tame. The anti-fungal properties of coconut oil are also helpful for keeping toes clear of fungal infections.
9. Frizz Tamer. Coconut oil is a go-to when you need to tame wild hair. Only use a small amount though. Too much coconut oil will leave your hair with an oily look.
10. To lighten age spots when rubbed directly on the skin.
11. To get rid of cradle cap on baby- just massage in to head, leave on for a few minutes and gently rinse with a warm wash cloth
12. Mixed with equal parts sugar for a smoothing body scrub (use in the shower)
13. Rubbed on lips as a natural chap stick
14. Use on feet to fight athlete’s foot or toe fungus
15. In place of Lanolin cream on nursing nipples to sooth irritation (also great for baby!)
16. As a natural personal lubricant that won’t disturb vaginal flora
17. When used consistently on skin it can help get rid of cellulite
18. Use as a natural deodorant
19. By itself or with baking soda as a naturally whitening toothpaste
20. Rub into elbows daily to help alleviate dry, flaky elbows.
